Yesterday was quite an eventful day. After visiting Baby Samantha and her daddy and mommy at the hospital, we headed over to The Barn to enjoy a chicken dinner in honor of Vonnie's 80th birthday. Look at all the kids, grandkids, and great grandkids who were able to gather in her honor! Wow!After the party, we headed back to the hospital to see Lilypie, I mean Samantha, once again. So precious.
Mr. D was a tad bit thirsty, so headed to the vending machine for a suitable beverage. He settled on this healthy Arizona beverage and mentioned that it only cost $1.50 in the vending machine. At this point, someone in the room pointed out the large 99¢ mark emblazoned on the can. Nasty capitalists.

England Swings
Katie went to Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace and Windsor castle today. Me, I'm going to Co-op, but as I do, I am whistling this classic ditty.Three comments. What is the third verse all about? What's up with the quirky dance moves? Finally, when I heard this on the radio as a kid and would sing along I always sang, "We ask Mr. Abbey, the Tower Big Ben," and wondered who Mr. Abbey was and what they were asking him. This is partly because Roger Miller slurred the words, but mainly because I had never heard of Westminster Abbey.

Blue Shadows
Katie leaves for London on Tuesday. So, we sat by the fire on the patio for a little family time tonight. Suddenly guitars materialized. We started with Kum Ba Ya and suddenly we were singing Blue Shadows. Or, trying to sign Blue Shadows.
