Bad Timing

After paying the Centerpoint Energy bill last week, I decided to take action to see if I could save enough $$ on the next bill to at least buy a mocha or a cup of soup at Panera or something. So, I turned the thermostat down from a pleasant 73 to 69. What difference could 4 degrees make. Apparantly quite a big difference. It's freezing in here! But, I'm not giving in. At least until tomorrow.

You get used to it I guess. We've always set our thermostat at 67 or 68 during the day and 62 at night. None of us are ever cold. We do wear polar fleece or sweaters or long sleeve shirts during the winter though. Actually the youngsters in the house commonly wear t shirts now that I think of it, but they just don't seem to ever get cold.

I think part of the problem was that the furnace stopped working entirely! They will be here by 6:00, so they say!

I don't have a thermostat to turn up or down, so we do the turn "off" and "on" thing with the fans or the "open" and "shut" thing with something called windows.

So, Nedra, when the temperature gets well below zero, are you saying I should have shut the windows? You know, now that I think of it, that would have been a good idea. In fact, I'll be right back, gotta go shut the windows...

Actually, the nice man from Centerpoint Energy cleaned a sensor and now we have heat. Yay for heat.
