I Want to Say Something...

...but I don't know exactly what I want to say...it's on the topic of the reaction to Sarah Palin's speech last night.

Shrill and sarcastic? The Democrats and the press that supports them must be scrambling if that is all they can come up with to say about the Palin speech. I have to give them credit and say they stay on topic with their talking points. They all came up with "shrill and sarcastic" this morning, just like they came up with "red meat" the night before.

Shrill and sarcastic? Would they say that about Biden...who admitted to plagiarism back in law school and they conveniently forget to pursue that, but tell us all about Todd Palin's DUI 22 years ago before he was married to Sarah and during a period of time that Mr. Obama admitted to being a cocaine user, but I digress...

Shrill and sarcastic? Let's examine the Democrats. Tell me that Al Franken is not shrill and sarcastic? And, nasty. Tell me that Obama and Biden haven't spun the facts and belittled their opponents. It's called politics. I guess the difference is that when Democrats speak they are so convinced that everyone else is wrong they and the reporters who support them can't see the arrogance and meanness.

I thought the speech was given with grace and humor. I also thought it had substance. So, let's get this straight, if a "gal" gives a speech it's sarcastic. If a guy gives a speech, it's hard hitting? Pleeeeease, gimme a break.

But, I guess when people will go after a 17 year old daughter just to elect a pro-abortion socialist, they don't care too much about looking sexist. I will choose the candidate that is "shrill and sarcastic" over the candidate that kills babies anyday.

Frankly, it's all about abortions for the Democrats in my book. All the talk about everything else is a distraction from what they are really about and how low they will go to kill a baby.

So, I'm hitting post now and will soon hit delete, I'm sure.

Have a great day everyone!

There is a sexist element to all the criticism of Palin. Also, what is up with the pictures CNN is choosing to use for her???

Okay this morning, first they showed her heiling (she was waving people).

Then they showed her punching the air.

Then the next one they showed she was making a weird face.

Why not just post a normal picture??

Probably because she said she didn't care what they thought and they want to see how far they can push her until they do care.

I can't wait to hear how tonight goes. I really hope they tone down the Drill Baby Drill thing cause that's just going to make people freaked out. Also they need to be a little less mean overall. I can't say I didn't enjoy it though.

I really like Huckabee now which is funny because I started out NOT liking him. Funny what a certain event in our past can do to you (you know what I'm saying). I wonder how much of my response to Huckabee was due to that particular event.

Well, let's see what happens. I want to hear McCain go back to some of his original ideas that I REALLY REALLY liked... like amnesty for immigrants and some great environmental policies.

Overall though, I think I'll vote for him because I still hold out hope to continue to chip away at Roe v. Wade. Palin has given me renewed confidence that this is still a priority. That's very important to me to show it's not just a bone to throw to social conservatives.

CNN and MSNBC make me hyperventilate, but, nevertheless, I keep turning there for some inexplicable reason! I didn't see the CNN photos. I prefer C-Span.

I guess I don't see what the big deal is about the drilling. Someone's going to have to explain that to me, but I liked that she was behind that for the immediate and then alternative energy for the future. I thought she made the alternative point just as significant as the drilling.

I didn't think she was "mean" so much as calculated. Her family had just been very unfairly attacked. If she stood up there and looked at the camera and gave an impassioned plea to "Lay off her daughter," they would have attacked her and it would have been used to show how her family is a distraction.

So, I think the plan was that she was going to have Levi there to be welcoming and accepting of him, but not mention it. Instead, she was going to hit hard and with humor (I LOVED the comment about the styrofoam Greek pillars heading back to the studio backlot). I'm a sarcastic person. I love sarcasm, so maybe that's why the remarks didn't bother me at all.

And I found Huckabee quite likeable, also, which is funny. He's on Fox as I type and just mentioned his Madonna comment was a reference to her using a photo of McCain and Huckabee in her concert!

I actually like McCain's health care ideas. I think his wife is quite remarkable, accomplished, and compassionate, as well. Did you see the little feature on how she adopted her daughter?

Obama's stand on the "Babies born alive" bill in unforgivable (unless he repents!) in my book.

I liked the article you linked on First Things.
